Okay, so I've read and heard a ton about the "type" of carbs we should avoid - stay away from anything "white" (sugar, white rice, white bread, white pastas, etc.) but as a bodybuilder and figure athlete, I rely upon carbs particularly during the cutting phase of my dieting when I'm trying to retain mass and reduce bodyfat while still training at high intensities. So - here are my questions: 1. Is there a difference between brown rice and rice cakes or can I interchange them? I realize that there is a certain amount of processing that takes place with both, but as far as nutritional value is concerned, can I use them both as if they were equal? 2. The amount of my carbs in my second meal is 1 cup of brown rice (with 5 oz white fish and 1 cup of veggies) can I split the serving into two 1/2 cups and still receive the same benefit or is there a reason for having the larger serving at one time? Thank you!

- Hi Joel, As a competitor, I sometimes need to supplement with protein powders. I have used Evolution, Dymatize, Isopure and MHP Probolic. They all taste great, but what should I really be looking for when selecting a protein supplement?
